5 Ways to Increase Your LinkedIn Profile Views

5 Ways to Increase Your LinkedIn Profile Views

How to Boost Your LinkedIn Profile Engagement

LinkedIn can be an excellent way to network and land a new job, but you aren’t likely to get far by simply creating a profile and waiting for an opportunity to fall into your lap.

While it’s easy to be passive and simply turn to LinkedIn’s job board functionality to apply for roles, its real power lies in its ability to foster connections between individuals.

By putting in the work and following the steps outlined below, most casual users can easily double or triple the number of profile views they’re getting in under a week:

1) Add More Connections

The first critical step to gaining traction on LinkedIn is to increase your number of connections.

We encourage you to aim for 100 at a minimum, but ideally, you’ll want to hit the 500+ mark.

Simply put, you want to maximize your reach to build your credibility within your niche, making people aware of who you are and your expertise.

2) Post Content Regularly

We recommend posting a mix of both original content and relevant industry articles 2-5 times per week.

When someone likes or comments on your post, it will also appear to others in their network, driving additional visitors to your profile.

To make your content visible to those outside your network, you should also use 2-3 relevant hashtags per post.

Remember that consistency is key!

Posting just once every few months likely won’t make much of an impact, unless it happens to go viral.

If you’re not a fan of social media or prefer to queue up your posts in advance, consider using a social media planning and automation tool such as Buffer.

3) Comment and Like Posts in Your Feed

Be sure to thoughtfully comment on other posts in your feed, as your engagement on LinkedIn shouldn’t be a one-way street.

When you comment on someone else’s post, you’re also putting yourself in front of their network.

You never know who may come across your comment and proceed to visit your profile!

4) Reach Out to Your Network

It can feel awkward to message an old classmate or coworker you haven’t spoken to in years out of the blue.

However, the faster you get past this discomfort and start reaching out, the less intimidating LinkedIn will seem.

Start by sending just one message today.

You’ll also have more fun in the process!

5) Complete and Optimize Your Profile

If your homepage is prompting you to add relevant skills, a summary, or any other content to your profile, be sure to do so.

You want to reach LinkedIn’s “all-star” status to improve your chances of appearing in recruiter searches.

You should also set aside time to learn more about LinkedIn so you can optimize your profile by crafting your headline in a way that improves click-through rates, for example.
